Some of my bass junk left to right: Fender Japan 1951 Precision Bass Reissue, 1973 Fender Jazz Bass, 1971 Fender Precision Bass aka "The Fly", 1974 Fender Precision Bass. The basses are leaning against a pair of Ampeg SVT amps.

Have mercy. Willee's rocked on Friday night. Mark McKenna was the engine that powered the blues machine all night long.D and Joe wailed. I played my 3 notes. It was a night of the living blues. I've said it B4, but Willee's is the last real blues club in thr Rio Grande Valley.

I've tried everything; thin ones, thick ones, nickle plated, stainless steel, roundwound , halfwound and flatwound. I even tried nylon tape wrapped strings on my fretless.

For the last 15 years I've used Ernie Ball or D'Addario brand Roundwounds gauged .50 - 1.05 on all my fretted electric basses. I generally use them for 10 or 15 gigs. Then I boil them in water for 10 minutes (I take 'em off the bass first) and then use 'em for another 15 or 20 shows. After that they get flat spots where the strings cross the frets and start feeling weird so I throw them away.

What's your set up?
